Vegan booze. Also how to feel drunk while sober.
If you can handle more sobering news and confessions of a new-ish, almost straight-edge vegan that lost friends to alcohol and drugs: If I do drink, I try to get vegan booze. Though I’m outrageously fun at parties, these $20-ish things make me feel drunk without a hangover:
- Sensory deprivation tank. The float tank I floated in was filled with 800 pounds of epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). Studies show float tanks may be equivalent to the effect of prescription drugs for anxiety and useful for chronic pain. Get deals on Groupon.
- Community acupuncture or $1-ish/minute massage at Tiny Massage Cart or People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture clinics like Circle Community Acupuncture. Also, Rolfing bodywork can help unlock stored emotional trauma that even a psychologist can’t get out. I tried rolfing at Fluid Body and it changed my life, mind, body and spirit. And he seems to be the only one in the area that does Muscle Energy Technique (MET). MET is not painful. Rolfing is painful-but-in-a-good-way.
- A few drops of Elixart’s blue lotus tincture before bed can create wild dreams!
- A soak in a hot tub.
See organic, vegan booze below without fish, eggs, or boiled cow or pig body parts (gelatin). I couldn’t find a list of vegan alcohol from mostly organic companies. So I made one. I marked ones I’ve seen at California grocers with a *.
